MAYA CRUDE OIL

MAYA CRUDE OIL

MAYA CRUDE OIL

It’s a heavy (21-22° API) and sour (3.4% of sulphur weight) crude oil, thereby producing lower yields for gasoline and diesel in simplified refining schemes when compared to lighter crudes.   To maximize the economic value of this type of crude oil, its processing requires refineries with high conversion units which transform the heavy elements (residues) of the crude oil into products with a higher value for the refiner.
