Manganese is derived through the carbothermal reduction of Manganese Oxide by heating a mixture of the oxides and coke in blast furnaces.  Manganese is used in steel alloys to increase many favorable characteristics such as strength, hardness and durability. In fact steel cannot be produced without manganese; it is an essential ingredient in the process.

Main Applications:

Production of steels for structural shapes, hot rolled sheets and plates

Produce of cold rolled sheets and low carbon slabs

Production of welding electrodes and automotive wire rods

Production of low carbon steels and austentic stainless steels

Production of steel for automotive parts

Production of high resistance and high weld ability structural plates
